Denver Broncos wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders is back. Less than eight months removed from the torn Achilles that he suffered toward the end of last season, Sanders seems to be making great progress in his recovery.

Sanders participated during team drills at a training camp practice yesterday for the first time all offseason, according to Nicki Jhabvala of The Athletic. Jhabvala notes that Sanders got some work in during a 7-on-7 session, and that he “had a diving catch to start.”

Achilles injuries can be very tricky, especially for a skill position player, so it's great to see him moving around. Sanders had previously been non-committal about his status for Week 1, but with this timeline he seems almost certain to be out there when the Broncos open the season.

Denver could really use him, as he's pretty much the only veteran presence in an otherwise very young receiving corp. Second-year players Courtland Sutton and DaeSean Hamilton are going to be counted on to play big role, and the Broncos need Sanders' experience.

That being said Sanders is 32 now, and it's anyone's guess as to how he'll look coming off one of the toughest injuries in sports. He was having a great season before going down and had a great connection with Case Keenum, racking up 868 yards in only 12 games.

Sanders showed he could still produce at a high level last year, but things have changed quite a bit. In addition to coming off a tough injury, there's also a new quarterback in town in Joe Flacco. The Broncos also want to get Sutton more targets, so Sanders might not be the top option he was before going down.
