The value of sports franchises continues to rise and with the reports that the Denver Broncos could be had in 2022 for purchase, two of the biggest names possible have popped up as potential suitors.

According to FrontOfficeSports.com, Jeff Bezos and Jay-Z both have interest in purchasing the Broncos, should they be put up for sale.

Sources tell FOS that two names keep popping up as potential new owners:

Amazon founder Jeff Bezos: A rep for the world’s richest man previously held talks for a 40% stake in the Washington Football Team. A source with knowledge of the situation told FOS that Bezos remains interested in NFL ownership.

Rapper-turned-mogul Jay-Z: Hip-hop’s first billionaire would need partners to purchase the Broncos. Forbes estimated his net worth at around $1.4 billion after the sale of champagne brand Armand de Brignac — he owned 50% when it was acquired by LVMH for $650 million in March.

It was just back in July that Broncos President and CEO Joe Ellis detailed the plan moving ahead as for as the ownership of the team goes, per the team's website.

“Our goal is a timely, responsible and orderly determination of ownership,” Ellis said. “What that will entail for us — there's some things that we still need to work through — but our goal is to be able to lay out, when the season is over — and [Head Coach] Vic [Fangio] has promised that will be in the middle of February — that we lay out for everybody a timeline to a transition of ownership that will take place next year prior to the start of the season.”

The Broncos' previous owner, Pat Bowlen, passed away in 2019 putting the situation somewhat in flux.

Now it seems there's a plan for the Broncos and Jay-Z and Bezos could have interest.
