Speaking via his podcast, Wilson's former Seahawks teammate Richard Sherman declared that if the QB fails to win a Super Bowl in Denver, “people will lose their jobs.”

The trade for Wilson makes the Broncos instant contenders for the Super Bowl, and if they fail to hoist the Lombardi Trophy after acquiring the nine-time Pro Bowler, it will surely be considered a failure on the part of the organization. Sherman is taking things a step further, suggesting that those responsible for bringing Wilson to Denver could wind up without a job if things don't play out favorably.

There's a lot of pressure on Wilson to find immediate success in Denver. He's joining a team that many considered were a star quarterback away from contending. By acquiring Wilson from the Seahawks, the Broncos signaled that they have high hopes for their current roster and sacrificed some valuable assets in order to bring the one-time Super Bowl champ to the team.

Last year in Seattle was one of Wilson's worst seasons to date. After battling a finger injury, Wilson threw 25 touchdown passes and six interceptions, tallying 3,113 yards across 14 games. The Seahawks were 6-8 in games he started, missing out on the playoffs for the second time in a decade. He'll hope to bounce back in 2022 with a strong debut season in Denver.
