A scary scene occurred early in the second half of the Denver Broncos-Cincinnati Bengals game. After scrambling to pick up a first down, quarterback Teddy Bridgewater landed hard on his head and remained on the ground. Players on the field took a knee around him, as well as an injured Bengals defender, while the teams' medical staff tended to both players.

In the video, via Dov Kleiman, Bridgewater appears to get hit in the back while he's in mid-air, resulting in a hard landing for the Broncos quarterback, who was lying face-down on the ground.

Not only was the cart brought out for the Broncos quarterback, but the medical crew was seen bringing out a stretcher and a backboard, causing further concern for those in attendance and watching at home.

The initial hit didn't seem anything too unreasonable, however, the added momentum on an already-forward-diving Bridgewater resulted in an extremely hard landing for the 29-year-old.

According to Evan Washburn, who was speaking on the CBS broadcast of the game, Bridgewater was taken to the hospital after being carted off the field, where he will undergo further examination. Initial reports from Washburn indicate Bridgewater has movement in all of his extremities.

Broncos fans, and all NFL fans across the nation, will be hoping Bridgewater is okay. The quarterback suffered a notoriously scary leg injury during his tenure with the Minnesota Vikings, which almost caused his career to be cut short, so seeing him go down like this is a huge concern for football fans.

We're praying for a quick recovery and positive news for the Broncos' star.
