Denver Broncos head coach Vance Joseph confirmed Trevor Siemian would remain the team’s starting quarterback, according to the Associated Press’ Arnie Stapleton.

Joseph believes the other members of the team, from coaches to the offensive line to skill position players, have to share the blame in not helping put Siemian in a position to succeed.

Joseph said, “He can't play well if he's not being protected … Now, he hasn't been perfect, either. He can play better, absolutely. But it's not a Trevor problem; it's a unit problem.”

After a promising start to the season in which he threw six touchdowns in his first two games, Siemian has struggled to regain that form for the last month. He’s thrown just two touchdowns against five interceptions in his last four games.

Siemian and the Broncos offense were shut out 21-0 by the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, the first time they have been held scoreless in 25 years. Their 394-game scoring streak was the longest active streak in the NFL and second-longest in league history.

While Siemian isn’t the lone issue with the Broncos’ sputtering offense, his struggles have highlighted his limitations as a player. However, his backup, Brock Osweiler, has clearly not shown he’s the answer, and making the switch to him likely won’t solve the team’s problems.
