Since the retirement of future Hall of Famer Peyton Manning, it has been a rough ride for John Elway and the Denver Broncos. The team hasn’t been able to get back on track even with a free-agent addition at quarterback in Case Keenum and promising young players like Bradley Chubb being added into the mix.

With the team on the cusp of missing the playoffs for a second straight season, the Broncos brass appears to be ready to part ways with head coach Vance Joseph. Elway may have already made up his mind making Joseph’s firing inevitable, according to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.

Unless Elway changes his mind (which is always possible), coach Vance Joseph’s tenure as the head coach is expected to end after only two years, per a league source.

The Broncos were expected to be a team to bounce back after a disappointing 2017 campaign. The addition of Keenum and drafting Chubb were thought to be steps in the right direction. Although these two major additions may still help right the ship in Denver, it doesn’t appear Joseph will be around to see it making the Broncos job one of the most desirable in the NFL during the upcoming offseason.

Former Broncos coach Mike Shanahan, who was at the helm for both of Elway’s Super Bowl titles as a player, has been rumored as a potential replacement. However, there’s also been talk that Shanahan won’t be the next in line as well, so it seems to be anyone’s guess at this point.
