Baker Mayfield has taken the Cleveland Browns by storm and has proven himself to be the perfect long-term option for the franchise under center. It has been a long time since the Browns have been able to build around a quarterback, but they can do that now moving forward.

The first casualty of the Browns' restructuring was head coach Hue Jackson. Gregg Williams has taken over the interim head coaching job, but he isn't expected to keep it long-term. Cleveland will likely go out in the offseason and try to find a new head coach that can rebuild the team into a contender.

In an interview with Barstool Sports via WKYC3, Mayfield opened up about what he is hoping the Browns find in his next head coach.

“Obviously, the easiest answer would be, yeah, I'd love to run the offense I did at Oklahoma. And that's because I had three years to do it and I got so comfortable in it.”

He went on to talk about how no matter who the Browns hire, he knows that he will need to adapt to the new offensive scheme and be a leader for the franchise.

“I think whatever we decide to do, I need to relate those schemes that I've learned over time and just do what we're best at. I've always believed that it doesn't matter what we're doing as long as I'm making the guys around me better, that's truly what it's all about.”

Mayfield also put his trust in John Dorsey to find the right guy.

“I think he'll handle that. I think he knows me well enough to kind of understand what I like. But it's not about me, it's about this whole franchise. Whatever they do, whatever decision they make, I'm going to roll with it, just like I have been since I got here.”

Cleveland has to be happy with the answers that Mayfield had to the questions that were posed to him. He has shown excellent maturity and leadership already this season.

In his first eight career games with the Browns, Mayfield has completed 61.8 percent of his pass attempts for 1,984 yards, 13 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He has also rushed for 111 yards on the season.

Expect to see Mayfield continue improving throughout the remainder of the season. No matter who the Browns hire, Mayfield will be the starter and he should be able to adapt perfectly fine to the offense that they run.
