While the Cleveland Browns wait to see what punishment will be handed down to Deshaun Watson, they are preparing for the season with the possibility that he misses all of it. They still have plenty of talent around the roster to compete, namely on defense with Myles Garrett and Denzel Ward.

The Browns nearly lost Ward for a chunk of the offseason after injuring his left foot in practice. Fortunately, according to Jake Trotter of ESPN, the two-time Pro Bowler will be fine once training camp begins in late July.

Ward is extremely important to the Browns' success. As the leader of the secondary, the team's best unit, he is extremely important. He recorded 43 total tackles, 10 passes defended and three interceptions. Although is it unfortunate that Ward will possibly miss a month of practice, it is very reliving that he will be ready well before the season starts.

Along with Greedy Williams, John Johnson and Greg Newsome II, Ward makes life tough for opposing quarterbacks and wide receivers. The young star has dealt with injuries in each of his four seasons, though. Keeping an eye on his health is always important for Cleveland.

It's tough to guess how good the Browns will be because of Watson's legal situation. Still, they are interesting enough to keep an eye on for other reasons, with Ward being one of them. Competing in a division with Joe Burrow and Lamar Jackson will be tough but the Browns have the defensive personnel to do it.
