The Cleveland Browns are dealing with issues pertaining to COVID-19 and the situation is worse than it sounds. According to Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer, the Browns have been experiencing an unusual series of events in the past 24 hours.

The night before Sunday's pivotal showdown with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Kevin Johnson produced a positive test for the Browns. Johnson won't be able to suit up on Sunday, which is a massive loss considering that Cleveland is already without Denzel Ward in the secondary.

With Johnson's positive test happening on Saturday night, the Browns had all players and coaches take COVID-19 tests overnight. The team is asking each player and coach to remain away from the stadium until they prove they have a negative test.

The Browns dealt with a slew of issues with COVID-19 last week when they were without four of their top wide receivers. Altogether, Jarvis Landry, Rashard Higgins, Donovan Peoples-Jones, and Khadarel Hodge were all sidelined due to a positive test or being considered a high-risk contact to someone who tested positive.

While all of the wide receivers are back this week, the Browns have other players and staff members testing positive. Breer reported that Cleveland believes that their situation worsened during their road trip against the New York Jets in Week 16.

Seeing that the NFL refuses to postpone or cancel games at this point, the Browns and Steelers are inevitably going to kick off on Sunday. But it should be noted that Cleveland's COVID-19 concerns aren't going away as they aim to advance into the playoffs.
