The Cleveland Browns are having as much trouble trying to win games as pinpointing which quarterback they will turn to.

After using Kevin Hogan under center for most of the past two games, Cleveland is reverting to its original starter in rookie DeShone Kizer. This was announced by Browns head coach Hue Jackson on Wednesday, according to Andrew Gribble of ClevelandBrowns.com.

It can be recalled that Kizer was replaced by Hogan in Week 5’s 17-14 loss to the New York Jets after Kizer threw for only 87 yards and an interception on 8-of-17 passing. Kizer wasn’t used at all in the next game when the Browns fell to the Houston Texans 33-17 for their sixth-consecutive defeat to open the season. Hogan, however, wasted an opportunity to separate himself from Kizer, as he passed for only 140 yards and repeatedly shot himself in the foot by recording three interceptions against just one touchdown pass.

For that embarrassing performance, Hogan was immediately demoted to the third-string role.

In his first game back after the benching, Kizer will face the Tennessee Titans at home this Sunday. Jackson and the rest of the Browns are hoping that Kizer will play much better after spending some time in the doghouse.
