Every single year one team in the NFL is chosen to be on HBO's Hard Knocks. This year the popular series focusing on training camp and the preparation for the upcoming NFL season and could feature the Cleveland Browns as they finally try to the right the ship.

Although the Browns may have created a solid foundation to build off of with the addition of potential franchise quarterback in Baker Mayfield, Cleveland general manager John Dorsey isn't a fan of the team potentially being on the show this year. Dorsey doesn't see any benefit to the Browns being on display on HBO, via Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com.

“I don't believe we're on Hard Knocks,” Dorsey said Wednesday on Browns' radio partner ESPN Cleveland 850. “I don't think there's anything good that comes out of Hard Knocks, but we'll see.”

The Browns are one of six teams in the running to be on the show. The five other candidates include the San Francisco 49ers, Denver Broncos, Los Angeles Chargers, Baltimore Ravens, and Washington Redskins.

All of these teams have intriguing storylines as well as fall under the mandatory guidelines set by the NFL back in 2013. Teams that have made the playoffs in the last two years, have a first-year head coach or have appeared on Hard Knocks in the previous 10 years are ineligible.

Although there's plenty of options for an entertaining Hard Knocks series this year, Cleveland might be the most intriguing. Mayfield alone might be enough of a draw for the show, but there's also the wide receiver duo of Josh Gordon and Jarvis Landry as well as the inner workings of a franchise that has been unable to get on track for decades.

Needless to say, Dorsey is hoping to avoid the added exposure whether good or bad during his first year in Cleveland. It remains to be seen which team will get the nod, but the Browns may be a popular choice.
