Hue Jackson's stint as head coach of the Cleveland Browns did not exactly go all that well.

Jackson went 3-36-1 in two-and-a-half seasons at the helm in Cleveland before the Browns fired him midway through the 2018 campaign after a 2-5-1 start. It also did not help Jackson's case that Cleveland went 5-3 after firing him.

But in spite of all of that, Jackson feels he actually did a great job with the Browns:

“I’ve said this before, I think during those times, it was probably some of the best coaching I did contrary to what people think, because you’re always doing anything and everything you can to find a way to win,” Jackson told Charlotte's WFNZ 102.5 FM. “Now, whether it happens or not, that’s not up to me sometimes. Again, I think I learned a lot.”

Jackson had just one head-coaching job before taking over Cleveland in 2016, serving one year at the helm for the Oakland Raiders in 2011 and going 8-8.

After being fired by the Browns, Jackson was hired by the Cincinnati Bengals as a special assistant to the head coach, but after Marvin Lewis and the Bengals parted ways earlier this offseason, Jackson was left without a job. He interviewed for Cincinnati's vacant head-coaching position, but he was unsuccessful. He also interviewed for the Arizona Cardinals' offensive coordinator job.

Jackson entered the NFL as a running backs coach for the Washington Redskins back in 2001 and landed his first offensive coordinator role with the Redskins in 2003.

He has also served as an offensive coordinator for the Atlanta Falcons, Raiders, and Bengals.
