The Cleveland Browns — despite their disappointing 6-10 record in 2019 — still boast one of the most talented group of offensive players in the AFC.

Cleveland's Week 1 opponent, the Baltimore Ravens, are particularly focused on one Browns wide receiver ahead of Sunday's AFC North showdown—but not necessarily for his receiving skills.

“They have, of course, No. 80,” Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said in reference to Jarvis Landry. “We have a lot of respect for him.”

Landry has produced big games against Baltimore in recent years, averaging 103 receiving yards per game in four matchups since he joined Cleveland in 2018.

However, Harbaugh is more concerned with how Landry will use his blocking skills to open up running lanes for the Browns' halfback duo of Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt, and how Landry's blocking will affect the gameplan.

“He’s a fabulous blocker,” Harbaugh said about the Browns talent in his virtual press conference on Wednesday, “moving around in motions and inside the box there and doing different things.”

Browns rookie head coach Kevin Stefanski's offense relies on the run to open up the vertical game. Baltimore understands the value of blocking on the outside; the Ravens signed slot receiver Willie Snead to a one-year extension in part because of his contributions to the running game.
Stefanski praised Landry's commitment to blocking, too. “As a blocker, so much of it is want to, and he definitely has the want to,” he said. “He has the will to do it. He’s tenacious. He played defense in high school, and you can see that coming out of him.”
