Fans of the Cleveland Browns have been waiting for Kareem Hunt to step on the practice field in training camp. On Saturday, Hunt participated in team drills in camp for the first time since arriving in Cleveland, per Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal.

To begin training camp, Hunt was on the non-football injury list due to an issue with his groin. About a week ago, the team activated Hunt and the running back was present with the Browns in practice today.

Earlier this offseason, Cleveland signed Hunt after the troubled running back was cut by the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs released the young running back after videos surfaced of Hunt knocking over and kicking a woman.

Despite the issues surrounding Hunt, John Dorsey and the Browns' front office felt comfortable bringing him in. Hunt was given an eight-game suspension to begin the 2019 season after violating the league's personal conduct policy for the aforementioned incident.

With Hunt, the Browns have one of the most talented running back groups with Nick Chubb and Hunt. Cleveland also had Duke Johnson, but the Browns finally appeased to Johnson's request to be traded earlier this week.

Therefore, while Hunt sits out, second-year back Dontrell Hilliard will likely have a role in the offense alongside Chubb.

Last season, Hunt rushed for 824 yards and seven touchdowns with the Chiefs before the running back was told to remain away from the team. With Hunt making his first appearance in training camp, he will need to get acclimated to the offense. That time will be used to prepare himself for his return in Week 9 against the Denver Broncos.
