Everyone knows Mark Wahlberg is a die-hard New England Patriots fan. The famous actor and Patriots fan had some strong words when talking about the Cleveland Browns quarterback, Baker Mayfield.

The actor had previously said: “We’re gonna get Baker Mayfield to come be the quarterback after Brady retires”. Of course, by saying “we're” he is referring to the Patriots.

Then, Wahlberg would double-down on his statement in a video for TMZ Sports. In the video, Wahlberg states:

“Baker’s my buddy, man,” Wahlberg can be heard saying in the video. “He’s the heir to the throne —  to Tom Brady.”

It's way too early to predict who will replace Brady when he decides to walk away from football. Although, Mayfield wouldn't be a bad choice if the opportunity ever presented itself.

Besides, Mayfield is keen on helping turn around a Browns franchise that has been the laughing stock of the NFL. Last season though, the rookie quarterback helped lead the Browns to a 7-8-1 record and helped give the fans of Cleveland a sense of hope moving forward.

This offseason, the Browns added Odell Beckham Jr. to the mix and the expectations for this team have skyrocketed. So much so, some media members are crowning Mayfield's Browns as a team who could dethrone Brady's Patriots in 2019.

Brady and the Patriots are coming off of their sixth Super Bowl win in the last two decades. Mayfield is trying to build up his resume as Brady has and maybe one day will suit up in Foxborough as the starting quarterback. For now though, those thoughts are purely coming from a fantasy perspective from Wahlberg.
