The Cleveland Browns' 2022 season is up in the air as the franchise awaits the NFL's decision regarding Deshaun Watson. Rumors are now heating up that the league is potentially looking to deliver a harsh punishment for the star quarterback.

According to The Washington Post, “the league ‘probably' will seek a suspension of one full season for Watson.” Many have speculated the duration of the suspension, but it sounds like a full season might be what's in store for the Browns quarterback.

Deshaun Watson currently has 24 active civil suits filed against him for sexual misconduct, with two more coming. Additionally, an investigation found at least 66 women the Browns quarterback reached out to in a 17-month time span. However, “Watson and his attorney, Rusty Hardin, have denied the allegations. Two grand juries in Texas declined to charge Watson with a crime,” per The Washington Post.

Regardless, it's not looking good for Deshaun Watson or the Browns. In fact, it's not looking great for the Houston Texans either. More and more information is released as more accusations and findings come to light. As far as Watson's punishment goes, the NFL has set a clear deadline to deliver a potential suspension, according to The Washington Post:

“The league hopes the entire disciplinary process, including the resolution of any potential appeal to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell or a person designated by him, is completed by the start of training camp, a person with knowledge of the matter said. The Browns are scheduled to open training camp July 27.”

With training camps coming soon, the league is likely to make its decision in the coming weeks. We'll see how it plays out, but based on these rumors, we may not see Deshaun Watson on the football field until the 2023 season. As for the Browns, their outlook for this year becomes murky.
