There have been plenty of splashes made this offseason with several teams around the league. Both the Cleveland Browns and Seattle Seahawks have been at the forefront of them, for better or worse.

However, not every trade is destined to make throughout the league. Needless to say, this is one of them. According to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter, the Browns have traded defensive back C.J. Smith in exchange for a 2020 conditional seventh-round pick from the Seahawks:

Cleveland Browns and Seattle Seahawks have agreed to following trade:

Browns receive:
2020 conditional seventh-round pick

Seahawks receive:
DB C.J. Smith

It goes without saying that this will likely be one of the lesser-known deals that go down this offseason. At the moment, it is difficult to gauge what the conditions of the trade are. Perhaps it could be dependent on whether or not Smith is able to make the Seahawks' final 53-man roster for the 2018 NFL season. Seattle's defense has been decimated by injuries and trades this offseason. As a result, it seems the Seahawks are looking to add some potential depth in the secondary.

Smith has gotten off to a rough start to his career. However, he comes from a championship pedigree after winning five straight NCAA FCS National Titles with North Dakota State, where he was also a former teammate of Philadelphia Eagles star quarterback Carson Wentz. Smith signed with the Eagles prior to the 2016 NFL season and was frequently moved up and down from the practice squad before he was waived and ultimately scooped up by the Browns.
