The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are coming off of a blowout of the Carolina Panthers in Week 16. However, head coach Bruce Arians still saw things he wanted to correct, chief among them, tight end Rob Gronkowski's drops.

Arians dropped a truth bomb on Gronkowski's blunders when he spoke to reporters.

“Just number of opportunities,” Arians said on Bucs Total Access this week. “He’s uncharacteristically dropped a couple balls. I thought he had a touchdown in this game. But it didn’t happen.”

“Yeah, we dropped one. ‘Gronk’ has got to catch that ball. The other one, they had good coverage on the one. There wasn’t anything special, we just didn’t convert. We didn’t play very well in the red zone (and) inside the five.”

As Arians said, Gronkowski, normally a sure-handed target, has uncharacteristically dropped some passes. The Buccaneers star dropped quarterback Tom Brady's best pass against the Panthers, which is the one Arians was referring to when he said he thought the Buccaneers had a touchdown.

Gronkowski has had an injury-plagued season but remains a huge factor for Tampa Bay when healthy, as he has over 500 yards and six touchdown receptions this season. However, Arians was right to heavily critique the veteran tight end, even after a big victory.

Arians knows that in a tight NFC, playoff seeding, as well as the Buccaneers' playoff fate, will come down to dropped passes— much like the one from Gronkowski—as well as converted opportunities in the red zone.

Above all, Bruce Arians knows that Rob Gronkowski fixing his recent drop problem would go a long way towards helping the Buccaneers defend their title.
