Wednesday night, Bruce Arians announced that he was retiring from his position as the head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Arians will continue his career with the team as a member of its front office and Todd Bowles will fill the head coaching vacancy.

The Buccaneers held an introductory press conference for Bowles as the new head coach, also giving Arians time behind the microphones. During his media appearance, one reporter asked Arians about his relationship with Tom Brady. Conflicting reports and rumors came out about the pair, specifically following Brady's unexpected retirement.

“People gotta write shit,” Arians said, referencing recent reports. “It couldn't be further from the truth.”

Arians said that he and Brady have a “great relationship,” saying that they have kept in close contact even during and after Brady's short-lived retirement.

NFL reporter Dov Kleiman tweeted a clip of Arians explaining his relationship with Brady and other Buccaneers players Thursday afternoon.

The former head coach said that he has “cussed out” every single player on the roster. Despite Brady's legendary status, he was no exception. Arians' tough love coaching tactic was used throughout his career in Tampa Bay, regardless of who he was working with.

The 2022 NFL Offseason has been a whirlwind of retirements, trades, and transactions. However, Brady and Arians are sticking around to attempt to bring another Lombardi trophy to Tampa Bay. The duo will continue their professional relationship with one another, just in a different way.
