The general consensus has been that wide receive DeSean Jackson will not be back with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers next season. However, new head coach Bruce Arians is attempting to change that.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Arians is planning on trying to convince Jackson to stay with the Buccaneers in spite of the fact that Jackson sold his house in Tampa last month.

Jackson played in just 12 games this season as he dealt with a thumb injury, hauling in 41 receptions for 774 yards and four touchdowns.

The 32-year-old signed a three-year, $34 million contract with the Buccaneers in March 2017 with an out at the end of this season, which Jackson is apparently using to tell Tampa Bay that he wants to go elsewhere for the 2019 campaign.

Jackson, who played his collegiate football at the University of California, was originally selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the second round (49th pick overall) of the 2008 NFL Draft.

He had a very impressive rookie year for the Eagles, catching 62 passes for 912 yards and a couple of scores. The following year, Jackson made the Pro Bowl after snaring 62 balls for 1,156 yards and nine touchdowns. He then made another trip to Honolulu in 2010 after finishing with 47 catches, 1,056 yards and six scores.

Jackson spent the first six years of his career in Philadelphia, making three Pro Bowls.

He then made his way to the Washington Redskins in 2014, where he resided for three seasons and tallied a pair of 1,000-yard campaigns.

The Buccaneers went just 5-11 this past season. They have not made the playoffs since 2007.
