Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Shaq Barrett will not be testing the waters in free agency as he is bound to head back to his team and make another run at a title in 2021. In a text posted by Josina Anderson, the Maryland native has already decided to stay put after coming off a stellar campaign with the Bucs last season.

Not long after, the two sides already agreed on a four-year, $72 million contract with $36 million guaranteed, via ESPN‘s Adam Schefter.

The Colorado State product amassed incredible numbers during the 2020 NFL season as he registered 57 total tackles, 8.0 sacks, and two forced fumbles through 15 games. He continued his stellar production in the postseason which ultimately allowed the Bucs to go all the way and win the Super Bowl LV.

Despite his level of production, Barrett wasn't given the franchise tag last week as the Buccaneers opted to place it on wide receiver Chris Godwin. Given the situation, it was certain that he will garner significant interest from many teams in the league if he chose to weigh his options in the offseason.

However, the Buccaneers didn't waste any time as they quickly retained the services of Barrett and ensured that he won't be going elsewhere. His return will further solidify the team's prolific defensive rotation alongside fellow linebacker Lavonte David who was also brought back by the team for next season.

Shaq Barrett's comeback will definitely play an integral role for the Buccaneers as they aim to defend their Super Bowl crown next season.
