Tom Brady recently announced his retirement, but the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are leaving the door open for him to return if he changes his mind and would do anything to bring him back, according to NFL Media's Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapaport. Otherwise, the Buccaneers have big plans at quarterback to replace Brady this offseason.

Tampa Bay is reportedly doing “extensive homework” on Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson, and there's also interest in a Russell Wilson trade. Watson's legal issues haven't been cleared up yet, but that should happen at some point this offseason and he's expected to be on the move. The Seattle Seahawks don't seem to have any interest in trading Wilson, but if he demands a trade, they would surely acquiesce his request.

The current in-house options at quarterback include Blaine Gabbert and youngster Kyle Trask, though Gabbert is set to be a free agent. The Buccaneers could also look to sign a veteran in free agency, with this report noting former Buc Jameis Winston as a potential target. Tampa Bay likely wants a proven option on the team given the win-now nature of the roster.

That win-now option probably won't be Brady, but the legend didn't totally rule out a comeback earlier in the week. It's still a long shot at this point, but if Brady gets the itch and wants to come out of retirement, the Buccaneers would rightfully welcome him back with open arms. The 44-year-old had one of the best statistical seasons of his career this past season before a tough loss to the Los Angeles Rams in the playoffs.
