Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady is hoping to be the NFL's ageless wonder.

Brady had a number of notable soundbites during Monday's media availability ahead of Super Bowl LV. Among them was a declaration he would love to play past the age of 45:

“Yeah, definitely,” Brady said when asked about playing past 45, per Ben Standig of The Athletic. “I would definitely consider that. Again, it's a physical sport, and just the perspective I have on that is you never know when that moment is, just because it's a contact sport. There's a lot of training that goes into it, and again it has to be 100 percent commitment from myself to keep doing it.”

Tom Brady has long suggested he would love to keep playing as long as possible, and it seems he is abiding by that mentality so long as his body allows him to still perform at a high level.

The six-time Super Bowl champion showed little signs of slowing down in 2020. Brady threw for 4,633 yards and 40 touchdowns against 12 interceptions during the regular season, and appeared to grow more comfortable in head coach Bruce Arians' system as the campaign rolled along. He would seem to have more left in the tank.

For now, however, the 43-year-old has an important task at hand.

The Bucs have their hands full going against Patrick Mahomes and an explosive Kansas City Chiefs offensive unit. The Chiefs scored 20 first-half points in their Week 12 win over the Bucs, and are fresh off a 38-point performance against the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship Game.

Brady will attempt to defy Father Time as he prepares to challenge Mahomes on Sunday, and perhaps for years to come.
