The biggest play of the game that Giannis Antetokounmpo made against the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday night wasn't from his usual bag of tricks.

With his team down by three points, the Milwaukee Bucks star sized up Andre Drummond at the top of the key and rose up for a long-range bomb. While such an attempt from The Greek Freak would usually be considered a win for the defense, Giannis made sure to sink this one to tie the game, also making history in the process by surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the most points scored in Bucks history.

Asked about the feat after the game, Giannis paid homage to a past dig aimed at him from one James Harden:

“Did not know. It's good because I'm changing the narrative,” said the Bucks star. “You know, I don't want to be the guy only that dunks and runs. I can make a 3.”

James Harden famously accused Giannis Antetokounmpo of having “no skill” in a previous interview a few years back with Rachel Nichols:

“I wish I could be 7-feet, run and just dunk. That takes no skill at all,” Harden said of the Bucks star. “I gotta actually learn how to play basketball and how to have skill. I'll take that any day.”

Giannis Antetokounmpo saying that he “changed the narrative” is a massive understatement in of itself. Not only is he adding skills to his game like draining clutch 3-pointers, but he has also earned a championship ring, something that James Harden is still trying to chase much later into his career.

It's clear that Giannis still remembers the shade thrown at him from The Beard. While the Bucks star is taking playful digs like these at his rival's expense, he has more than let his play on the court do most of the talking for him.
