Mike Budenholzer's teams are typically known for their defensive prowess.

While the Milwaukee Bucks are certainly one of the better defensive teams in the NBA (they rank first in defensive rating, according to Basketball Reference), they have also proven themselves extremely capable on the offensive side of the floor.

The Bucks have scored at least 100 points in 57 consecutive games dating back to last season, the longest such streak over the past 30 seasons:

The Bucks have been prolific this season, ranking first in points per game (120.0) and pace (104.8) while also ranking third in offensive rating, according to Basketball Reference.

Giannis Antetokounmpo has been at the forefront, but the Bucks are also getting major contributions from Eric Bledsoe and Khris Middleton, and George Hill and Brook Lopez are also averaging double figures in scoring. Not to mention, the Bucks are first in the NBA in field goal percentage.

The Bucks have had success running the “Five-out” offense with Giannis as the point man and the likes of Middleton and Wesley Matthews spreading the floor.

As good as Giannis has been, Middleton may be the X-factor (via Eric Nehm of The Athletic):

It’s getting more difficult for Middleton to remain anonymous. He has led the Bucks in scoring in three of the last four games and put up some incredible shooting numbers in December. In the team’s 13 games, Middleton is averaging 19.8 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.3 assists in 27.3 minutes per game, while shooting 51.8 percent from the field, 47.1 percent from beyond the 3-point arc and 89.3 percent from the free-throw line.

It comes as no surprise that the most well-rounded team in the NBA also has the best record in basketball. But the Bucks are consistently showing improvement on the offensive end of the floor, something that should make them a title contender throughout the season.
