Despite their 8-7 record, the Milwaukee Bucks have been touted as one the most promising teams in the NBA. This is thanks, in large part due to the dominant performance of superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Antetokounmpo has undoubtedly established himself as an early MVP candidate after the tremendous strides he has made since last year. However, according to Jonathan Abrams of Bleacher Report, NBA legend Kevin Garnett thinks the Bucks may have another MVP-caliber player currently on their roster as well:

Thon Maker reminds me a lot of myself. He loves the game. He's a young, exuberant athlete who has a lot of tools—he has touch; he has agility; he has really, good feet. He has a really good shot from three-point all the way up to 19 to 21 feet. He has very good bones, as we say.

Thon is going to be the MVP of the league one day. Mark it down. He has the bones. He has the appetite to be able to chase something like that.

Garnett is certainly familiar with what it takes to accomplish the greatest individual achievement in basketball after being named MVP in 2004. However, it is a bit of a stretch considering Maker still has yet to make any kind of significant improvement thus far in his young career.

The second-year big man is averaging just 4.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, and has started in just seven games this season. Despite his paltry numbers, Maker is oozing with potential and has shown flashes of his versatility on offense. That said, he still has a long way to go before the “Big Ticket” comparison rings true.
