The Chicago Bulls have not only been one of the worst teams in the league, they’ve also dealt with a ton of injuries. According to their head coach, however, it’s no indictment on the medical staff.

According to NBC Sports Chicago’s Mark Strotman, head coach Jim Boylen praised the team’s training staff despite the rash of injuries.

“From my experience in this league, we have the best medical people and the best training staff I’ve been around.” he said. “That’s not to discount anybody else, but these guys are as good as anybody I’ve ever been with.”

Despite the praise from Boylen, the Bulls are still suffering a pretty harsh wave of injuries. Not only is Zach LaVine suffering from knee swelling, but rookie small forward Chandler Hutchinson also fractured his toe this week, and will be forced to miss two weeks.

For the Bulls, this season has been a massive dude that’s been filled with both injuries and lots of losing.

Sporting an 11-38 record – good for 13th place in the Eastern Conference – the Bulls have seen players like LaVine, Lauri Markkanen, Kris Dunn, and Bobby Portis all miss extended time due to injuries.

On top of all that, their fast-rising rookie Wendell Carter Jr. will also likely miss the rest of the season thanks to a thumb injury that requires surgery.

With the trade deadline fast approaching, it’ll be interesting to see what the Bulls do, and what players, if any, they plan on trading.

For now, they’ll have to regroup and prepare for another long offseason that will result in a top draft pick.
