The Chicago Bulls saw the new Bad Boys movie starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence and Bulls power forward Lauri Markkanen has a message for everyone.

Markkanen wants you to know his name is pronounced like Mike Lowrey, the character Will Smith plays:

The Bulls are 15-27 on the season. They are in ninth place in the Eastern Conference standings and just four games back of the Brooklyn Nets for the eighth and final playoff spot in the East.

Maybe Lauri Markkanen and his Bulls teammates will be inspired by the movie and pull off their own upset on Friday against the Philadelphia 76ers. For that to happen, Markkanen and shooting guard Zach LaVine will have to play like All-Stars.

In 42 games this season, Markkanen is averaging 15.0 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.6 assists. He's shooting 42.4 percent from the field, 35.2 percent from beyond the arc and 81.9 percent from the free-throw line.

LaVine has firmly established himself as one of the best scorers in the NBA. He is averaging 24.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 4.0 assists on the season while shooting 44.0 percent from the field, 40.0 percent from beyond the arc and 82.8 percent from the free-throw line.

The Bulls are expecting LaVine and Markkanen to be the team’s dynamic duo for the next few years. Both guys are explosive scorers and can flourish in the pick-and-roll and pick-and-pop game.
