In news which will probably make fans in Chicago upset, Bulls president Michael Reinsdorf says vice president of basketball operations John Paxson and general manager Gar Forman will be back next season.

Fans in The Windy City have been calling for Paxson and Forman's job for years now. The phrase “fire GarPax” has become the slogan for many Bulls fans, as they are tired of how the two men are running the Bulls organization.

However, Reinsdorf says he thinks Forman and Paxson have done an admirable job and doesn't understand why they get so much criticism from the fans and media:

“Absolutely,” Reinsdorf told K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune when asked if Forman and Paxson will return next season. “We believe they’ve done a great job. I know that in this market, with some of our fans and some in the media, they look at it differently. That perplexes me. Let’s talk about them individually because that’s another thing I don’t understand — why they’re referred to as “GarPax” when they have different job responsibilities.”

The Bulls are in Year 2 of their rebuild after trading Jimmy Butler to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the summer of 2017. Chicago has a record of 18-46, putting them at the 13th spot in the Eastern Conference standings, though there have been signs of life lately after a truly dreadful first half of the season.

Reinsdorf's loyalty to Paxson and Forman isn't going to stop the fans from letting their voices be heard. There will be a fan protest of Paxson and Forman on Wednesday at the United Center when the Bulls host the Sixers.
