Tensions flared during the late stages of the Chicago Bulls’ loss to the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 4 of their Eastern Conference first-round series on Sunday.

With under three minutes left in the contest, LaVine drove the paint with relative ease but was fouled by Bucks forward Bobby Portis. The two got into a minor scuffle after LaVine took exception to being swiped and grabbed by the veteran forward.

After the game, LaVine downplayed the minor altercation between him and his former teammate.

“Just old friends seeing each other again,” LaVine said.

LaVine and Portis were teammates for just two seasons in Chicago. Portis’ tenure with the Bulls came to an end ahead of the 2018-2019 NBA trade deadline when he was shipped off to the Washington Wizards. He had the chance to stay put in Chicago, but he opted to decline the team's four-year extension offer worth more than $40 million.

Portis has since gone on to make the most out of his next stops in the NBA, which has included his ongoing run in Milwaukee.

Portis will have the opportunity to become a free agent at the end of the season, as he has a player option for the 2022-2023 campaign. In the unpredictable world of the NBA, one sure can not count out the possibility of Portis reuniting with LaVine in Chicago.
