Chicago Bulls shooting guard Zach LaVine didn't make the All-Star team as a reserve when the selections were announced on Thursday.

On Friday, LaVine spoke to Bulls reporters about his All-Star snub and if Orlando Magic big man Aaron Gordon's dunk contest entry will motivate him to participate in the contest as well.

LaVine has been invited to participate in this year’s slam dunk contest, but he hasn’t made a decision yet.

Basketball fans around the world are hoping LaVine does the slam dunk contest since he’s one of the best dunkers in the NBA. LaVine, who is a two-time champion in the event, has completely recovered from the ACL tear he suffered during the 2016-17 season when he was with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The 24-year-old can fly with ease and should probably compete and put on a show for Bulls and NBA fans as a whole.

More than three decades have passed since Bulls legend Michael Jordan defeated Dominique Wilkins in the 1988 slam dunk contest in The Windy City. It would be cool to see LaVine put on a show at the United Center in February.

In 50 games this season for the Bulls, LaVine is averaging 25.1 points, 4.9 rebounds and 4.0 assists. The high-flyer is shooting 44.0 percent from the field, 38.0 percent from beyond the arc and 83.0 percent from the free-throw line.

The Bulls enter Friday with a record of 19-31. They are in the ninth spot in the Eastern Conference standings.
