Call of Duty Vanguard ranked play is finally launching on February 14. It has been 2 months and a half ever since Vanguard launched as developers teased about ranked play. Call of Duty League General Manager Daniel Tsay confirmed that Ranked Play is rolling out this February. Alongside it, they will also release new Vanguard game content in February. The new season of Vanguard and Warzone was originally scheduled to arrive on February 2. It delayed for weeks to give more time to further improve the game as well as fix noticeable issues.

Ranked play keeps the players grinding the game wanting to improve further by playing with serious players. A balanced rank climbing system progression would entice more players to keep on playing. This would help the players determine their skill level based on other players playing with them as teammates or opponents. Tsay didn’t disclose any more information on what to expect from ranked play on Call of Duty.

With pro players complaining on the lack of competitive play it has been a downward trend since launch. The Call of Duty League 2022 is also right around the corner so teams would really like to have a platform to hone their skills. The release of ranked play will be some time after the Call of Duty League kicks off. We will get to see how competitive play should be like before we get to test it on our own.

Insider reports also showed that Vanguard system will probably copy from WWII. We can expect everything from skill divisions as well as visible skill ratings. WWII’s ranked system is the highpoint of competitive play in the CoD series. Copying it would benefit Vanguard heavily, especially with the drop of viewership on Call of Duty. We have yet to hear official word on the ranked experience, so we can only hope for the best.
