In his 10 seasons in the NFL, New England Patriots quarterback Cam Newton has made more than $100 million in just his contracts alone. Even if his time with the Patriots may be coming to an end and he could be a free agent, there is no doubt that Newton’s earnings from his contracts, endorsements, and other endeavors have made him a rich man.

But that didn’t stop one young heckler from claiming talking trash to Cam Newton and taking shots at his impending free agency in a video that made the rounds on social media.

The video shows Cam Newton in a camp or event held at a football field with several young participants. That included the young heckler, who taunted the former Carolina Panthers signal-caller, who responded by saying that he’s rich.

The heckler then said that Cam Newton is a free agent and is about to become poor, drawing laughs from the other participants.

Cam Newton continued to state that he’s rich before asking the young heckler if he could talk to his father.

While the fan may be right in saying that Cam Newton is an impending free agency, that doesn’t necessarily mean that he’s poor, as he’s already earned millions of dollars during his time with the Panthers and through endorsements and various business ventures.

The three-time Pro Bowler is coming off his first season in New England, during which he completed 65.8% of his passes for 2,657 yards with eight passing touchdowns and 10 interceptions while having 12 rushing touchdowns. His future with the Patriots may not be certain, but the millions he’s made over his career has made Cam Newton rich and unlikely to be poor any time soon, even if he does enter free agency.
