There’s some uneasiness among Washington Capitals fans right now, following a scary injury suffered by Alex Ovechkin during Friday’s preseason game against the Philadelphia Flyers Friday. But for The Great 8’s teammate, T.J. Oshie, the future Hall of Famer is going to be just fine.

Oshie spoke about his thoughts on Ovechkin’s status after the Flyers game and seemed confident that the left-winger will be back sooner than later, per The Athletic.

“There's always a concern,” teammate T.J. Oshie said. “We were kind of joking in the room that that Russian blood, he'll be back soon. I don't know if he even misses a day. He's a tough guy.

Ovechkin exited the Flyers contest and did not return, suggesting that the injury could be something that needs to be monitored closely, especially this close to the start of the 2021-22 NHL regular season.  It could also be just that Oshie is right, that the injury will not hinder Ovechkin from joining the Caps in their season opener against the New York Rangers on Oct. 13.

The Capitals are already without Nicklas Backstrom, who continues to recuperate from a hip injury that will keep him out of at least the early goings of the upcoming season, so the potential of Ovechkin missing games as well is a bit of a downer for Washington fans,
