We aren't too far removed from people claiming Adrian Peterson was toast. Somehow, through magic and pure talent, the running back went to the Arizona Cardinals and rediscovered what made him special during his time with the Minnesota Vikings.

Thanks to his stellar play, as well a injuries ravaging the position, the Cardinals have given the veteran talent a heavy workload since his arrival. According to Adrian Peterson, he doesn't mind it. In fact, give him some more of it.

“It felt good to get in there, get in the groove and keep pounding the rock,” Peterson said, via Kent Somers of the Arizona Republic. “I kind of felt like I was getting up there in the 30s, but I felt good, felt fresh, and the guys were doing a great job up front. It was like, ‘Whatever it takes to get this ‘W.’ ”

Head coach Bruce Arians joked about the heavier workload and about how special of a talent Peterson is.

“Ball’s not very heavy,” Cardinals coach Bruce Arians joked.

“He’s in unbelievable shape,” Arians added. “We’ll see how he feels Monday or Tuesday. I wish we had a full week. Obviously, we won’t be able to feed him that many times on Thursday night.”

If you had Adrian Peterson, who carried the ball a career-high 37 times for 159 yards on Sunday, as a still dominant back in 2017, you win a prize. I don't know what kind of prize, but if we're going back the last few seasons, I don't think many people predicted he would remain this good.
