The Arizona Cardinals looked fantastic against the San Francisco 49ers. They were without Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins and still found a way to win the game. However, it might have come at a cost, as Chase Edmonds fell to injury early on in the first quarter.

According to Ian Rapoport, Edmonds is “feared to have suffered a high-ankle sprain.” This is terrible news for a Cardinals team that is dominating right now, as they could be without their starting running back for “4-6 weeks.”

Chase Edmonds might have been in for a massive performance against the 49ers, but he left the game after the very first play. He never returned and James Conner took over for the Cardinals, recording three touchdowns on the day.

This team has relied heavily on Chase Edmonds and James Conner, as the duo has been a solid one-two punch out of the backfield. Things might slow down a tad for the Cardinals if Edmonds does miss several weeks. Their best decision would be to place Edmonds on the IR with designation to return within 3-6 weeks.

Luckily for Arizona, they seem to be just fine without their star players. Colt McCoy looked fantastic and James Conner carried the team on his shoulders. Even backup running back Eno Benjamin recorded an impressive touchdown, trucking a defender on his way to the house.

Although Chase Edmonds might be out for several weeks due to a high-ankle sprain, the Cardinals are still a great team. As long as James Conner continues scoring touchdowns, this team will maintain the top seed in the NFC. They do need Kyler Murray and DeAndre Hopkins to get healthy though. But for the time being, Arizona is looking like a legitimate contender.

Keep an eye on Edmonds and the Cardinals, as more updates will be released throughout the week. Arizona takes on the Carolina Panthers in Week 10.
