Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray refused to give out any excuses for his dismal performance under center which led to a nail-biting loss against the New England Patriots in Week 12. The former Oklahoma standout still believes that his shoulder injury wasn't the cause of his struggles on the field, via Pro Football Talk:

“I didn’t adjust anything, like I said, if they play me, I have to hand the ball off,” Murray said. “You know, thought I probably could have checked it down maybe a couple — once or twice more than I did, you know, in the pass game. But other than that, there wasn’t really any situations where you know, I shied way from a hit or anything like that. I mean, they hit me a couple times anyway, so I played with — like I said, I wasn’t going to play if I couldn’t be myself.”

Kyler Murray wasn't his usual self as he was limited to produce a meager output of 170 yards and threw a 23/34 passing clip. He also had a pick and was sacked twice by the Patriots' defensive line in the loss.

His usual weapon in wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins also had a quiet outing as he only generated 55 receiving yards on five yards. Running back Kenyan Drake attempted to contribute on the ground game instead with 74 yards on 22 carries and two rushing touchdowns for the Cardinals.

The valiant production still wasn't enough to get the team over the hump as the Patriots ultimately fended off a comeback attempt by the Cardinals to run away with a 20-17 victory.

Their most recent defeat eventually dropped them to a 6-5 win-loss tally and extended their losing skid to two games. Murray will have to bounce back and lead the charge as the Cardinals attempt to inch closer towards securing a playoff berth in a showdown against division rival Los Angeles Rams in Week 13.
