There were memes floating around when the Arizona Cardinals were reported to have signed Michael Crabtree in free agency. Those memes were for naught as Crabtree actually didn't sign a deal with Arizona, according to Adam Schefter.

If you ventured onto social media on Monday, it was cluttered with memes of Crabtree and Aqib Talib. The two have had an eventful history against each other, but neither of them will face the other—for now.

The Cardinals held a workout for Crabtree and offered the veteran wideout a contract. Unfortunately, both sides couldn't come to an agreement and they went their separate ways.

Last season, Crabtree spent the season with the Baltimore Ravens in an offense that was run-oriented once Lamar Jackson took over under center. Crabtree played in all 16 games and caught 54 passes for 607 yards and three touchdowns.

Before arriving in Baltimore, Crabtree was with the Oakland Raiders from 2015-2017. In those three seasons, Crabtree combined to have 25 touchdowns and 232 receptions. It was the best three-year span in his career.

Above all, Crabtree is remembered for his contributions to the San Francisco 49ers in 2012 when they made the Super Bowl. That season, Crabtree had 85 receptions, 1,105 yards, and nine touchdowns in the regular season. Both his yards and his touchdowns that season are his career-highs.

He would go on to catch 20 passes for 285 yards and three scores in the three playoff games for the 49ers in 2012. Now, the former 49ers wide receiver sits in free agency, waiting for an opportunity to contribute to another franchise—not named the Cardinals apparently.
