Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Michael Crabtree has not been with the team very long. Regardless, he has already etched out a potentially integral role on offense.

According to Darren Urban of the team's official website, Crabtree has been listed as the starter on the depth chart alongside wide receivers Larry Fitzgerald and Christian Kirk.

No huge surprises on the first Cardinals depth chart released for the regular season. Michael Crabtree listed as starting WR along with Christian Kirk and Fitz. Byron Murphy listed as starting CB with Tramaine Brock. Kirk listed as PR, Andy Isabella listed as KOR.

Although the depth chart is hardly indicative of a player's role, the fact that Crabtree is listed as the starter is an indication of their plans for him. The onus is now on him to get up to speed with the new playbook.

While the signing of Crabtree may have taken longer than expected, his arrival provides quarterback Kyler Murray with another proven option to work with in the passing game outside of Fitzgerald. Meanwhile, Kirk flashed plenty of promise as a viable option as a rookie after finishing the 2018 campaign with 43 receptions for 590 yards and three touchdowns.

Crabtree is coming off another down year by his standards after spending the season in a Baltimore Ravens that made some significant changes under center. Despite his modest regular season numbers, he still showed his promise as a red zone threat by hauling in two catches for two touchdowns in the playoffs.

The veteran may need some time to find his footing in the offense, however, he could see his target share increase as the season moves on.
