The Arizona Cardinals suffered their ninth loss of the season against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday and after the game head coach Steve Wilks said the game was “embarrassing.” The Cardinals opened up the game strong scoring the first ten points, and it looked like they had a chance to at least keep themselves in the game.

It turned quickly though as Phillip Rivers picked apart the Cardinals defense, allowing the Chargers to score 45 points and that led to an ugly defeat.

“Definitely was embarrassing, definitely not what we want,” Wilks said, via ESPN.com. “This organization, that team in that locker room, those players and coaches, we got to do better.”

As bad as the Cardinals looked in the game, Wilks thinks this is still a team that has a lot of fight left in them, and he still believes in this team.

“I don't think those guys quit,” Wilks said. “I'm not going to even stand up here and say those guys quit. Those guys finished. And do we got to play better? Of course we do.”

Other plays in the locker room don't have the same feelings though including defensive tackle Corey Peters who says on tape they see a lot of players not executing what was done in practice.

“We turn on the film and guys are not executing the way we did during the week in practice,” Peters said. “Guys are not doing the things we've been coached to do. That's frustrating. We're not going to be discouraged. We got to keep putting our best foot forward.”

The Cardinals are not only playing for the future at this point, but Wilks might also be coaching for his job. If the team doesn't show improvement in the last few weeks of the season, the team could decide to make a change.
