If the Arizona Cardinals are searching for another reason to believe they are on the verge of a breakthrough, then they should not look further than their performance trend over the past decade.

A visual graphic about the Cardinals' NFC West standing over the past 10 years is going viral, thanks to the peculiar but real pattern it shows. Every year, Arizona seems to rank higher, and when they reach the top, they decline.

As the graphic showed, after the Cardinals finished fourth in the NFC West in 2012, they improved every year until going no. 1 in 2015. After that, they dropped until going dead-last again in 2018. The pattern broke when they finished last again in 2019, but they did climb back after that until going no. 2 last season.

If that pattern continues, then there's a reason to believe the top of the division is within reach.

Of course it won't be easy, not with the Los Angeles Rams posting a serious threat. They are the Super Bowl champions after all, and with the team reloading while maintaining most of their championship core, they are poised to dominate again.

The Seattle Seahawks are on a rebuild and aren't expected to contend, while it remains to be seen how the San Francisco 49ers will play with Trey Lance taking over as QB. With that said, it is looking like a two-horse raise for the top spot in the NFC West between the Rams and Cardinals.

It will definitely be amazing if Arizona ends up getting first, though, just so the trend continues.
