The Boston Celtics reportedly believes that veteran center Al Horford already has a team with which he would want to sign with.

Horford is expected to opt out of his contract with the Celtics, with an extension an unlikely possibility after negotiations between the two sides broke down. In a report by Adrian Wojnarowski, it was noted that the “gulf is too great for sides to believe they can close on a new deal now.”

Now, Horford is reportedly looking for a three- to four-year deal elsewhere.

According to Mark Murphy of the Boston Herald, though, the Celtics appears to be convinced that Horford has already made a decision on his future. Boston believes that Horford already has an idea on his next destination based on the “dramatic step back” during the negotiation.

Losing Horford would be a major blow to the Celtics, who recently miss out on the Anthony Davis sweepstakes.

The Celtics were interested in Davis, but the Los Angeles Lakers eventually won the race for the superstar forward. Aside from Horford, the Celtics are also expected to lose superstar point guard Kyrie Irving in free agency.

Boston is allegedly preparing for the worst case scenario of Horford and Irving leaving, and with how things are looking, it really seems likely.
