Jaylen Brown is turning into something else for the Boston Celtics. In a season full of turmoil and uncertainty, the star forward has been a bright spot for the team, turning in solid outing after solid outing every time. Against the Orlando Magic, Brown put on a show, scoring 50 points to lead the Celtics to a 116 – 111 win.

Not many players can say they've scored 50 points in the regular season. There's only a handful players who've done it for the Celtics: Isaiah Thomas, Paul Pierce, the late Sam Jones, Kevin McHale, Larry Bird, Jayson Tatum, and now Jaylen Brown joins that vaunted list. (via Tim Bontemps)

Narrow the search even further, and Brown's performance ranks even higher in the storied Celtics history books. There have only been two players before Brown to accrue 50 points and 10 rebounds in the same game for Boston: Bird and Tatum. With Brown's 50-point, 11-rebound performance, he joins that decorated list.

The Celtics season has been a confusing ride for its fans and everyone watching. With new coach Ime Udoka replacing Brad Stevens and a retooled roster, the team has been going up and down the proverbial rollercoaster. Off-court drama has been also rife in Beantown, with Marcus Smart and Udoka throwing verbal jabs at the team during media sessions.

This team does have talent though. Brown and Tatum is a duo that no team ever wants to face and wants to pry away from the Celtics. It's just a matter of figuring out how to make their pieces fit together. There's plenty of time for them to regain their footing in the season.
