Kyrie Irving has had a somewhat subdued start to his Boston Celtics career. He’s yet to score more than 24 points through his first seven games as a Celtic after averaging 25 points per game last season with the Cleveland Cavaliers. However, there could still be more to come from Irving, whom Jaylen Brown believes has only just started getting comfortable in the Celtics’ offense.

Apart from learning a new offense on a new team, Irving is also learning how to play a new role. After years of taking a backseat to LeBron James, Irving is now the Celtics’ primary playmaker, which understandably needs a bit of an adjustment period. He also had to adjust for the loss of Gordon Hayward, who was supposed to be a big part of the offense this season.

But even with all those adjustments he's had to make, Irving is still averaging 21.7 points, 5.7 assists, and 2.3 steals thus far, numbers which were good enough to make him an All-Star in past seasons.

It seems Irving is now finally starting to get a better grasp of the Boston system. And as Jaylen Brown remarked, it's a scary thought that as good as Irving has already been, he could get even better as he gets more comfortable playing in the offense.
