The praises have been coming in for Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum all season long. Tatum’s teammates have marveled at how impressive he’s been at different facets of the game despite being just a rookie.

One such facet has been during crunch time, where Jaylen Brown has described Tatum as a “special” player, according to ESPN's Chris Forsberg.

Added second-year forward Jaylen Brown: “Especially for a rookie coming in, that's been special. I feel like him and Kyrie, they kinda get going in the fourth quarter. We need those plays at the end. They're tough shot-makers and have the ability to score like the top percentile of the league so, when they get going, it's hard to stop them.”

Tatum had a reputation coming into the draft as a highly advanced scorer who could potentially thrive as a go-to guy in the next level, particularly in the clutch.

Tatum is certainly making good on those evaluations thus far this season. Per Forsberg, he’s been one of the league’s most reliable fourth-quarter scorers, averaging 4.4 points in the final frame. He’s been even more deadly in the last five minutes, where he’s shooting an incredible 63 percent from the field.

Tatum’s cold-bloodedness as a rookie has given the Celtics quite a clutch tandem along with Kyrie Irving. With Tatum likely to get even better with age and Gordon Hayward still set to return, the Celtics should be set in crunch time for years to come.
