Boston Celtics small forward Jayson Tatum is enjoying spending time with his new point guard, Kemba Walker, at Team USA training camp in Las Vegas.

Tatum says it's been “fun” playing with Walker in practice and getting to know the three-time All-Star off the court. Tatum and Walker are joined in Vegas by teammates Marcus Smart and Jaylen Brown. The four guys have been hanging out during the evenings, as Smart, Tatum and Brown are trying to develop chemistry with Walker before Celtics training camp starts next month.

“It’s a lot of fun, especially playing with Kemba and getting some early chemistry,” Tatum said, via John Karalis of MassLive.com. “Being out there and playing with him has been fun.”

Jayson Tatum and Kemba Walker were in Paris together earlier this summer before the free agency period started. Walker says a big reason he signed with the Celtics was because of Tatum and the good vibes he gets being around the youngster.

Walker says Tatum never told him to come to the Celtics. Instead, the swingman talked about the city of Boston, Celtics fans and playing for head coach Brad Stevens.

That was enough for Walker to realize signing with Boston would be the right move for him. Walker, who is replacing Kyrie Irving as the Celtics’ starting point guard, already seems to have a good rapport with Tatum and Brown.
