Boston Celtics point guard Marcus Smart became the first player at his position since the legendary Gary Payton to win the Defensive Player of the Year award. After edging out Rudy Gobert and Mikal Bridges for the honor, Smart was fired up, and took the opportunity to celebrate his achievement ahead of the Celtics' Game 2 matchup with the Nets in the 2022 NBA Playoffs. Smart rolled up to the TD Garden rocking a custom-made green-and-black Defensive Player of the Year robe, and it was freaking amazing.

Yup, that's a guy who isn't lacking in confidence. The dazzling DPOY robe had Smart looking like a world-class boxer getting set to enter the ring for his title fight. Honestly, he might be feeling that way ahead of Boston's showdown with Brooklyn, and we wouldn't be surprised if Floyd Mayweather gave him a nod of approval over this look. Whoever designed that outfit certainly needs some recognition, because Smart had everyone talking with his loud entrance to the arena.

This season, Smart upped his defensive game the likes of which we haven't seen from him in his 8-year career. The 28-year-old helped anchor the NBA's most efficient defensive team, providing tremendous and tenacious perimeter defense. On the year, Smart averaged 1.7 steals while starting a career-high 71 games, while also scoring 12.1 points per game, the third-highest mark of his career.

Fans will get to see some of that signature defense on Wednesday night when he takes the court against the Nets, but for now, Smart is letting everyone knows how he feels after taking home the coveted award.
