The Boston Celtics enter Game 2 of the NBA Finals up 1-0 against the Dallas Mavericks and the team's faithful is excited for the team's quest for an 18th championship. Celtics legend Paul Pierce showed as much enthusiasm as the rest of the team's fans, appearing at the TD Garden floor well before tipoff with his heart on his sleeve.

The 46-year-old Pierce was part of huge Celtics moments at the Beantown arena in 15 of his 19 seasons in the NBA, including winning the 2008 championship as part of the vaunted Big Three with Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen.

Pierce entered through the tunnel of the TD Garden clad in a huge chain with the Celtics logo around his neck, in a pair of videos via Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints. He then proceeded to bend and touch Lucky the Leprechaun at center court.

“We in the Garden! This is where we wanna be. In the Finals, Game 2. I can’t control it, oh my gosh! I’m going crazy! Let’s go!” said an emotional Pierce at the Garden floor.

Paul Pierce mocks Celtics doubters in loaded post

Paul Pierce was one of the loudest voices to shut down Celtics doubters following a blowout victory over the Mavericks in Game 1. The Eastern Conference champions torched the Mavericks with a lead as high as 29, en route to a 107-89 victory.

Celtics critics argued the team was not battle-tested ahead of their Finals series against the Mavericks after dispatching their opponents in the first three rounds in five games or less. This included a four-game sweep of the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference finals. However, the results of Game 1 showed a ruthless display of execution for the Celtics.

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Pierce simply posted a succinct message for all the doubters.

“Why everyone so quiet today.”

Jaylen Brown challenging Celtics faithful to bring their A-game in Game 2

Jaylen Brown is asking Boston fans to bring their A-game ahead of Game 2, especially knowing they could do better in hyping up the team.

“I thought the crowd was good. I think we can be a little bit better,” Brown said in a press conference on Saturday, when asked for his thoughts on the crowd in Game 1 of the Finals. “So I expect us to be even louder. Sunday, we are going to need our fans to be hyped. It's not just team versus team. It's crowd versus crowd. It's gas station versus gas station. Supermarket versus supermarket. It's the whole city versus the whole city. We need everybody.”

Brown led the Celtics in the Game 1 rout of the Mavericks with 22 points. Kristaps Porzingis followed suit with 20 points, while Jayson Tatum had 16 points.

Porzingis described the electric feel of entering the TD Garden with a frenzied Celtics faithful in attendance.

“It was insane. I'm not going to lie. Just walking in the tunnel was like a WWE-style walk-in,” Porzingis said. “I didn't even know it was for me at first walking out, hearing that crowd roar and getting real excitement to start the game and give everything to these fans that came.”
