The Pelicans have been made aware of “a handful” of teams that Anthony Davis would be willing to sign long-term with upon a trade, beyond the Los Angeles Lakers and the New York Knicks. The Boston Celtics, to no surprise, are not included on that list, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

This could help open up marketplace and entice those teams to make a strong offer for Davis between now and Thursday's 3 p.m. ET trade deadline.

His father, Anthony Davis Sr. recently told ESPN of his dislike for the Celtics organization after their decision to trade Isaiah Thomas to the Cleveland Cavaliers after he had an All-Star caliber season, but that gamble has proved a worthy one, given how little time Thomas has seen on the floor since suffering a potential career-derailing hip injury.

Thomas went under the knife that very offseason before he was traded, and then was traded again after a cup of tea with the Cavs, playing the remainder of the season with the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Washington product then signed with the Denver Nuggets in the offseason and has yet to step out on the court, with 30 vital games to go in the 2018-19 campaign.

Yet it seems like it's the Celtics against the world at the moment, unable to trade for Davis immediately due to the “Rose Rule” provision, despite having the best ready-made assets to offer for The Brow.
