San Diego Chargers tight end Antonio Gates has been one of the most productive players in the NFL at his position throughout his career.

Gates added another impressive feat to his name on Sunday afternoon by surpassing future Hall of Famer Tony Gonzalez with 112 touchdown receptions.

Although his production has tallied off over the last few seasons due to his age and injury issues, Gates has continued to add to his stellar NFL career. He has set the all-time mark in his 206th career game, which is 64 games fewer than Gonzalez played and is now tied with Shaun Alexander for 14th all-time in career touchdowns.

Gates also ranks 22nd overall with 901 career receptions and 33rd with 11,220 career receiving yards. He also has nine seasons with at least 60 catches along posting more than 700 receiving yards in a single season 10 times. The 35-year-old has played a significant part in helping further revolutionize the tight end position in the league history in becoming a huge part in the passing game while paving the way for many players to enter the NFL after him.

Gates has certainly put together a Hall of Fame-caliber NFL career that has also seen him earn eight Pro Bowl selections, three First-Team All-Pro nods, and two Second-Team All-Pro selections.
